We all know this patient: he has a major subluxation complex, visible on X-ray from across the room. Never exercises, overweight, complains about severe low back pain, was intermittent, now frequent, maybe some sciatica. And this is what he tells you every time he comes in — every 3 years. Yep, like clockwork, once every 2 or 3 years in he pops, to get his “back fixed.” And year after year he’s getting weaker, fatter, more run-down.
Whose fault is it? Easy to say his. But it’s ours. Even though we explained it to him, corrective care vs maintenance, progressive degeneration, etc. And the whole orthodontics analogy … change over time…. Well, we just didn’t do a good enough job. He didn’t get it. And so he’s living a diminished existence, just like everyone in pain and sickness who never grasped the chiropractic story.
Our excuses: Pearls before swine, you say. Tried my best. Can’t get everyone… It’s not magic…
It’s very likely that you didn’t make it personal. Here are the questions that didn’t get answered in the patient’s own mind:
What did you expect from chiropractic care?
What do you expect from your body?
What does your family need from you that requires physical strength and mobility?
Are you able to live up to their expectations?
What excuse do you give them when you can’t do something they need?
At what age did you expect your body to start falling apart?
How long do you want to live?
What are you willing to do to achieve those expectations? Specifics: time, money, energy.
Written or verbal – you pick. Most people usually don’t articulate these concerns to themselves. But if someone takes the time and is attentive about the answers – then the patient can’t dodge the truth.
The longer we’re in practice, the harder it is to care about people who don’t seem to care about themselves. I know, right? Guess there you have the difference between us and medicine. They encourage people not to care about themselves, that medicine will gladly take over the patient’s responsibility for his own health… MD’s rap is usually – Don’t worry, that’s not really on you, our drugs will take care of everything…
This is the only advantage chiropractic has over medicine – universal principles of form, function, neurology, and healing. Tapping directly into the intelligence that is all life being the only way out of the downward spiral.
And there you have it – both the good news and the bad news about chiropractic. Unfortunately, it’s not magic.

“Doesn’t it seem as though vaccines have come to occupy an
unreasonable portion of our lives these days? Almost every week there’s a new story about the latest threat that necessitates some new vaccine, or some new study about vaccine injury, or some exposé about contamination, or maybe a reported scandal… What is going on?
At the same time, one of Medicine’s best kept secrets may be that unvaccinated children are actually healthier than vaccinated, by any parameter one employs. If so, the world of vaccines would certainly be a triumph of marketing and media magic. At the very least, our suspicions are raised that this is the only field of scientific endeavor in which even the possibility of a fundamental flaw with vaccines is all but blacklisted from mainstream clinical study. This occurs in no other branch of science.
Legitimate science, by definition, must follow wherever the data may lead.
New vaccines are being invented every year, all with the same hope – to be included in the Immunization Schedule. There is no reason to believe we’ll stop now at 69 vaccines mandated before a child is eighteen. But infant mortality rates and the health of our children are horrifying. The incidence of both infectious diseases and degenerative diseases among Americans is skyrocketing.
Declining health among school children is pervasive. Ritalin, insulin, antidepressants, and inhalers are rampant in our schools. Despite the highest intake of antibiotics and vaccines of any group of children in history, our kids are fatter, sicker, and dumber than ever before. (Harvard School [94] [73])
The number of abnormal children is shocking: 43-54% of US children already have a chronic disease. [29]
One third of children are either obese or overweight. [JAMA][1] Other sources report much higher. Quoting CDC figures for asthma incidence, since 1980 asthma more than doubled and is right on track to double again by 2020. [81][167]
Most of the increase is in children, who account for more than 12 million cases. (Borenstein, CDC) [168][2]) More than 10% of US children have asthma. [39, AAAAI] In some schools, one out of four kids is walking around with an inhaler. Each year 1.8 million visits to emergency rooms have asthma as the primary diagnosis. [3]
The news usually focuses on what a big mystery asthma is even though we’re spending some $56 billion per year to treat it. (CDC Press release [50])
Over 13% of American public school children are enrolled in programs for some type of disability. (National Center [108]) The term learning disabled has become more of a political term than a scientific one, with numbers roulette spinning. But there is no doubt that 82% of all special ed students are classed with a label that can have been directly influenced by vaccines: (Chart p 12, [4])

SAT indices have been re-centered twice in the past 8 years in order to make it look as though high school kids aren’t as illiterate as they really are. [73] Exit exams are made easier and easier, following the delusional ‘no child left behind’ policy. Very political, to hide the truth of dumb and dumber kids.
INFORMED CHOICE
A growing number of medical researchers and doctors disagree with the 69 vaccines that children are required to get. [250] More parents each year are opting out by signing exemption forms. They’re drawing the line. They’re saying, if nothing else is sacred in this world, at least the blood of our children should not be subject to the whims of politics and big money.
