Perhaps the darkest consequence of all the foregoing is that most of us have lost confidence in the inner curative power of Nature – the body’s inborn wisdom. A hundred media snippets a day, week after week, year after year, have undermined our ability to even consider the notion that 99.9% of infants may be perfect as they are. Or that their pure blood is the most sacred medium in the universe, the crucible in which the human genome itself was meant to be safeguarded and passed on from age to age. Or that the immune system can only develop to its full potential if left to its own devices, largely unknown to human science.
Such natural, vital postulates as these sound foreign to our ears, even fanatical, cultist. Clear, rational, independent thinking has become so rare, so unwelcome, so feared in our world, where Conventional Wisdom on all topics of consequence is locked down tight, top to bottom. Adrift in this gallery of manufactured illusion, no effort is spared to keep one idea from surfacing: that we have all but lost the ability to trust our own instincts, to find the truth, and then to act on it.

The appended reference list is just a cursory look at an immense body of literature that is at odds with current vaccination policies. If vaccinations are so safe and valuable, then why does the government have to pass laws to force people to get vaccines that aren’t required in other free countries of the world, countries who have better health than we do? Why are there laws describing how people should be quarantined and deprived of property for refusing shots? Why were those parents in Maryland in 2007 forced to vaccinate at gunpoint?
Clarence Darrow, the famous lawyer at the beginning of the 20th century, asked: if vaccinations really work, then those vaccinated will be immune to disease, right? So what does it matter if some people choose to go unvaccinated? What do the vaccinated have to worry about? Aren’t they protected?

5. CHALLENGE TO DEBATE
Since the new book came out, I have been hearing many loud voices proclaiming the safety and necessity of vaccines. So let’s make this very simple: I hereby challenge any and all parties who wish to defend the scientific value of vaccines to a public debate, to be held in the classic collegiate forensics format. I have an advisor from the USC debate department about the specifics.
So step forward, all you experts in vaccine theory. Here’s your chance to be heard. Do you have the courage to step up and defend your contentions in public? Some credentials required, but will consider all takers. What say you? Want to be taken seriously? Here’s your chance.
How about some chiropractic schools? Want to keep hiding, or will you step up? Let’s bring the issue out in the open once and for all.

6. Which Schools Would BJ be Banned From Today?
In today’s global attempt to change chiropractic into something completely alien from its origins and legacy, an intriguing phenomenon is taking shape. There is a line in the sand being drawn between those who have been shown the traditional principles of chiropractic, the way DD and BJ developed it, with its virtually unlimited healing potential – and – the other side – the revisionists, who take many names, who have decided that since they never understood the original scope and intent of chiropractic, as has been defined by law and practice for the past century, they are going to effect a metamorphosis into something a little tamer, a little less provocative, a little less, well – holistic.
No one talks about the rift, but anyone who looks can see it, clear as an elephant. Chiro PC and all that, you know. You can’t always tell the players apart because many of the revisionists realize they can get some mileage out of pretending to be traditional subluxation-type DCs, so they’ll wear that hat on special occasions. Politics. The chameleons.
Or they might show up at Billy D’s CalJam for some dip, but then secretly ban him from their campus. Or Liam. Or myself. Or any of the other speakers who talk about fundamental notions of subluxation, innate intelligence, neuroplasticity, dis-afferentation from spinal and paraspinal mechanoreceptors, and the illimitable power of chiropractic and reconnecting the body with its primal intelligence. The quality of life.
It’s particularly difficult for students and the new docs, because they’re suddenly thrown into this maelstrom of hype and controversy, where the lines are not clearly marked, and many players pretend to be on opposite sides on different days. It can be very confusing.
So this might be a viable criterion for evaluating a school, or association, or any organization of DCs for that matter: would BJ be welcome there as a speaker? Or would he be banned? Or would they fawn over him to his face and deride him behind his back? If you can’t figure it out, ask them. Then decide if you believe the answer.
At the same time, beware of those who would canonize or apotheosize BJ into an all-perfect healing magician. That can be just as scary, because he made a lot of mistakes and wrote a lot of inconsistencies. We’re talking about his fundamental message of chiropractic, the Big Idea, the philosophical basis that was then manifested into a biomechanical, neurophysiological day-to- day healing reality.
These are the ideas we’re going to elaborate in the Seattle seminar on 9 March (see Section 1 above). It will be like a Carrick-for-dummies kind of CalJam science warmup type of seminar. And the irony of how today’s best neuroscience is corroborating these original notions of DD and BJ. If you have no idea what I’m talking about at all, then you really need to be there.
Another telling criterion for the validity of this discussion is success. Successful DCs reading this will wonder – why bring up this subject at all? Why are we talking about it? It’s self-evident. What do you think we tell patients every day? How do you think we got all these people to actually show up in this busy clinic all these years? How would you dare to open a practice without knowing that chiropractors are the only doctors who would even think of facilitating this missing connection with the power that animates the living universe? Without that, what are we? Subspecialists of massage? Simian manipulators?
The real blueprint for success is out there – a new fountainhead.
